Meet Dev

I’m Devin. Nice to meet you!

First things first. I love to travel. You may have picked up on that. My husband would say that I spend nearly every waking minute planning my next trip with any remaining minutes reserved for planning the trip-after-next.

New experiences both energize me & how I love helping others find the path to experiencing new things, too.

I’m from the land of bourbon and rolling Bluegrass hills in northern Kentucky, raised 30 miles outside of (hot take incoming) my favorite city of Cincinnati, Ohio. This area will always feel like home to me.

2.5 years ago, Phil & I decided to take our stubborn desire for a campervan & morph it together with our lack of $100k lying around & decided to build out the back of our Toyota RAV4 as a sleeper camper. Since then, we’ve traveled to Arizona, California, Maine, Florida, AND Canada on multiple cross-country trips in our SUV camper!

I am a creative. Photography, watercolor, and writing are my mediums of choice. I believe that creativity is all around & those who seek it out are richer for it. These creative skills helped fund our travel for years & now we are putting them to the test through this travel blog & our YouTube channel!

Oh yeah, and I somehow convinced Phil to save up & quit our jobs to take a sabbatical & see the world! It’s been one grand adventure.

Meet Phil

Hi! I’m Phil.

While chasing Devin to all parts of the world has certainly kept me on my toes, I also share her love of exploring new places and experiences. The thing I look forward to most: food. I'm a firm believer that the best way to a person's heart is through their stomach.

I love getting to experience new cultures and ways of life through traveling. This is especially true when meeting people who think differently and see the world from another perspective. I hope to be a part of helping other people have those opportunities too.

For me, creativity looks like baking sourdough, slapping the bass and cajon with my bandmates in The Mingled Oaks, and bumbling my way behind the camera.

Although I adore my old Kentucky home, I am definitely one of those people that likes to ask myself, "Could I live here?" anytime we go to a new place. So far, the answer has been "Yes" more times than I can count.
